How will you be spending your December holidays this year?

This year will be a little different. It will be our first Christmas without my mom, and sadly she passed during the holidays last year. But I refuse to get the holiday blues, because she would never want that. I think the best way to honor her is by making new traditions and celebrating her in spirit...I know for sure is that we'll spend it [the Holiday] together as a family, with her memory very close.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

My extended family does a white elephant every year, where you each bring a gift of a certain value and you can steal/trade gifts--it gets very competitive! I always try to have the most stolen gift (and steal the second best for myself, obviously)

Are there any local spots you frequent over the holidays that have become a holiday ritual for you?

I have to see the holiday windows at Bergdorf every year. There's an amazing documentary, "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf" that goes inside how they're made, and I have always found them super inspiring. An uptown shopping day in general is a must during the holidays, ending with a drink at Bemelmans in the Carlyle.

What is the best gift you ever received, and who it was from?

My mom gave me her favorite ring a few birthday's ago. She always told me I'd get it one day, but it was such a surprise when she gave it to me. It's a brilliant, robin's egg blue stone, set in a nest-like setting, and her name was Robin, so it was really special to her.

What is the best gift you’ve ever given?

When I have the time, I like to paint around the holidays and give my paintings as gifts. Those are always the most well-received because I think everyone appreciates something you made with your hands.

What is your favorite restaurant to eat in over the holidays / favorite dish?

I love the cozy vibes at Freemans, and ordering all their sides!

What will you be bringing to holiday events this year?

My mom's go-to dish was always a green bean casserole. I used to hate it when I was younger, but have learned to love it as I got older, so now I'll be carrying on the fried-onion-coated torch!

What look or piece are you most looking forward to wearing this holiday season?

I've recently secured two fantastic Fall 2019 Prada pieces from The Real Real, both of which are black with beautiful pops of pink and red silk. They're great all year round, but I think will feel extra special during the holidays. Paired with Agmes jewels of course ;)

On her favorite AGMES Piece - The Gabriela Brooch

"I've been wanting a simple but statement gold brooch for a while now. I love the idea of styling them in a non-traditional way: to secure a scarf, or act as a button on a jacket, to add a gathered detail at the waist, etc. I love the versatility of the Gabriela Brooch to look as though it's a detail on the garment, and to add extra interest"

How will you be spending your December holidays this year?

I’ll be at home in Brighton this year. This is our third Christmas in our new home and as it’s much larger then our old place we are really enjoying being able to host the whole family.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Oh gosh, I have a few! I think my favorite is the Christmas Eve walk. Growing up we used to do always do one and take clementines to snack on at the halfway point. I won James over to the tradition and now we do it with our boys every year.

Are there any local spots you frequent over the holidays that have become a holiday ritual for you?

Our local pub is always a place we’ll head to. So lovely settling in by the fire with a mulled cider or two, and we’ll usually bump in to friends and neighbours which is a bonus.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

It has to be my Cartier Tank watch that my husband James gave me a couple of years ago. We went to the Cartier store on New Bond Street so I could try some pieces on and then he surprised me and bought it! Had to wait until Christmas Day to open it up though.

What is your favorite restaurant to eat in over the holidays / favorite dish?

I bought a projector for my husband last year and we’ve had the nicest cinema nights at home with it. In the courtyard during the summer, and in our living room area in the winter. The baby also loves it.

What is your favorite restaurant to eat in over the holidays / favorite dish?

On Christmas Eve we stay home and make dinner which always includes prawn cocktail (another tradition!) so I’m looking forward to that as my boys have already asked if we’re doing it this year. And also excited to make my first batch of mince pies and tuck into a couple.

What will you be bringing to holiday events this year?

A pair of flat shoes for the journey home ;)

What look or piece are you most looking forward to wearing this holiday season?

I have a new shearling bag from Gushlow & Cole which I’m looking forward to wearing with a silky trouser and top or dress. And obviously my Large Astrid Cuff!

Alexis' favorite AGMES style: the Large Astrid Cuff

I chose the Large Astrid Cuff in silver as I am really feeling the need to dress my arms on nights out at the moment! I have the gorgeous Agmes Celia Hoops and the SBT Bubble Hoops so will likely style with them.
